Mark Your Calendars for Saturday, March 8th

I wanted to remind everyone that I am one of the Regional Authors appearing at the Dahlonega Literary Festival next Saturday.  Susan and I will have a table set up from 9 am until 4:30 pm in the Parish Hall at St. Luke’s Catholic Church at 91 North Park Street in Dahlonega.  I will be on a panel with other Regional Authors from 11:15 am until 12:00 noon.  If you are in the area, please stop by and say hello.  I don’t believe there is any charge to attend the event.  Here is a link to the festival website:  Dahlonega Literary Festival

A New Image In The Works

Susan and I have been quite busy for the past six weeks trying to figure out how to market my books more effectively.  We have not been pleased with either the appearance of, or results from, my author’s website (  I think if you look at it you’ll understand why.  It’s pretty passive and boring.  In all honesty, it was put up in a hurry because we needed to have a web presence out there.  Now our goal is to refine it, make it more pleasing to people who visit it, build a following, and have it generate book sales for us.

As part of that we’re focusing on developing a new image that includes a consistent look and feel throughout all of my marketing materials.  We developed a new color scheme that is on my new business card and website.  Attached is a picture of my new business card so you can see what I’m talking about.

One thing you’ll notice in the picture we’re now using of me is that I’m actually smiling!  Based on feedback from many of you we are switching to a more pleasant and happier countenance for me.

The new website is under development and will soon replace the current one.  We are working with a friend of ours, Pam Fink of The Lucy Group, to develop the site, but Susan is doing much of the actual development work.  Needless to say, it is a major learning process for both of us.  Stay tuned as we hope to have the site completed in the near future.  If you want a sneak preview, send me an email at and I’ll give you instructions to see it when we’re a little further along.

Progress On My Next Book

Meanwhile I’m still working on Green Skies, the final book in the Colors of Alaska Trilogy.  Susan has nearly completed the cover, and like Blue Ice it features a picture she took on our recent Alaska trip.  This time however, using her Photoshop skills, she has created a Northern lights background to represent the green skies referred to in the title and book.  We decided not to make a trip to Fairbanks in the middle of winter to to take a picture of our own.  It has been cold enough for us here in Georgia!

I plan to have Green Skies completed sometime this Spring.  After that, we’ll see what direction my books will take next.

Until the next newsletter, I hope you stay safe and your days are filled with pleasant experiences.
